Follower

     Over the years I've done a lot of walking, but one day as I went along my way a strange black cat started following me. I crouched down and coaxed it to come closer. I noticed it's eyes. They were a deep black, round orbs that flashed as the light was taken into them. They seemed to have an endless depth into a hole to nowhere. I stared at them for the longest time.
     When I got up to walk away, the cat followed me. I tried to keep it away, but it just continued following.
     I still see it sometimes, these 11 years later. And I wonder.
